Robyn in Saturday Night Live

Robyn has marked some biggest American shows with her appearance this year and this weekend she was invited to Saturday Night Live hosted by her partner by tour - Katy Perry.
It's not the most exciting news in Robyn's life lately. With Avicii and Swedish House Mafia she's got to Grammy-2011 nomination Best Dance Recording with "Call Your Girlfriend" and though it's gonna be a real tough fight to get there is already a big win that this artist has really deserved.

Emma Fällman: the real diamond of True Talent

First season of TV-show True Talent has finished with the victory of Dimitri Keiski - guy with a loud rock-voice honestly we couldn't fall for. Instead we've got a big tasty pack with another contestant I was mentioning before.
Emma Fällman was shining with completely every song she was singing on the show, what a look! What an attitude! What a great voice!!! It's getting more and more difficult for new Swedish artists to break through lately not playing indie or elecronic music but it will be a crime if this girl won't release anything poptastic while public interest is still warm.

Erato - Call Your Girlfriend

New Swedish Internet phenomenon has come from Uppsala as a small video made by three girls from local band Erato singing cover of Robyn's latest hit "Call Your Girfriend" clapping hands in synchronous beat of margarine tubs tapped on the table.
Sounds like pretty simple idea? But video has collected around 350.000 videos just for a week, girs were invited to SVT and there's no wonder actually, beautifully sounding acapella voices with a beat of tubs have become absolutely hypnotizing combination you hardly can get away from when you start watching.
I think girls definitely should try record their own stuff, something in Imogen Heap style would become a real hit.

Robyn - Call Your Girlfriend (live at Ellen show)

After a rush of fresh stuff from her during last year this year Robyn works mostly on promoting it and among other performances she was invited to popular American The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform her latest single "Call Your Girlfriend".
What I love the most is that winged hood and choreography from music video, all the rest is what we use to enjoy in Robyn performing live.

Emma Fällman - Indestructible

Seems like we've found our another favorite of True Talent show.
Emma Fällman who participated in Idol-2006 together with Danny is back into the spotlight on True Talent show where Danny is in a role of judge.
Emma who sang Robyn's Indestructible has completely won over us with that sort of loud emotional rock vocal we use to fall for.
Another last episode's participant Emilie Irewald wasn't just ex-Idol but actually Danny's love back in school. You can check her performance here, we remember Emilie from Idol very well and liked her so looking forward what she'll be up with.

Rockbjörnen-2011: candidates

Rockbjörnen-2011 candidates are revealed this year and you know what I think looking at Best male category? Seems like Swedish girls audience's getting more powerful and wilder these days, when Eric Saade, Danny, Ulrik Munther and Ola (honestly I sent my vote for Danny, yes, but...) are best male artists of Sweden seems like it shows that this category (of young pop-chaps) gets loads of commercial potential these days in Sweden, will next Melodifestivalen get pop-guy vs. pop-guy next year again?
Alright, moving to other candidates - Tove Styrke, Veronica Maggio, Takida, In Flames, Ola, Eric Saade and Ulrik Munther have gor two nominees. We're personally glad to see September, Eric Amarillo, Dead By April, Roxette, Adele and Jedward in nominees as well (Tokio Hotel again? They've won two of last year's nominees. Have they even released anything since that?). Though there's loads of commercial pop it absolutely doesn't mean it will win (m)any categories but you can affect it voting here.

Rye Rye feat. Robyn - Never Will Be Mine (new mixes)

You should remember about Kat Krazy remix of Rye Rye and Robyn collaboration "Never Will Be Mine" that we were so positive to, now the team has come up with whole promo pack of mixes and you know what? This pack feels really tight and there's no fillers actually, our fave is R3hab remix - more dance, more Robyn and less rap, that's how we start our Sunday morning!

Rye Rye & Robyn - Will Never Be Mine (R3hab Remix)
Rye Rye & Robyn - Will Never Be Mine (Moguai Remix)
Rye Rye & Robyn - Will Never Be Mine (Kill The Noise Remix)

Rye Rye feat. Robyn - Never Will Be Mine (Kat Krazy Remix)

First time we've heard this collaboration we were expectedly not so impressed. Take one of the biggest hits coming from Sweden and cut part of the song out replacing it with completely not interesting rap-part.
Now Rye Rye's single built on Robyn's old track "Be Mine" gets Kat Krazy Remix-treatment and it gets so much better to our ears! It's not just a dance mix, it's a really good modern dance mix you should always release if you need to save your single for real. Girls, you should've started with this!

Rye Rye - Never Will Be Mine ft. Robyn

American rap-artist Rye Rye reworks old Robyn's hit "Be Mine" into new track "Never Will Be Mine" keeping chorus and replacing verses with rap.
Initially we were sort of sceptic to this release as obviously idea of changing part of this song to rap didn't look like a good idea for hardcore pop-fans like we are. However now we've got a video featuring Robyn and it makes us pay our attention to the song, it's not bad at all but we love original much more.

Robyn - Call Your Girlfriend (video)

Have we promised to stop complaining about "Call Your Girlfriend" chosen as new Robyn's single instead of "Time Machine"? So we won't! We really like this song and it's gonna be good summer single, isn't it?
Today we get a brand new video for the song and well, not any artist can fill three and a half minutes with dances in the dark hall, one camera and nice spotlights (as big tasty bonus). But Robyn is not any artist and she does these three and a half minutes worthy watching just because of her.

Robyn - Call Your Girlfriend (mixes)

Though the third part of Robyn's trilogy "Body Talk" was already released last year along with final compilation that currently makes its road to the heart of listeners from the most different continents era of "Body Talk" is not over and this May another single "Call Your Girfriend" will see the light.
As you could expect bunch of mixes from different DJs will support this release but as you probably didn't expect every of them is better than other, every is pretty stunning club banger but if we had to choose best one we would choose... Kaskade remix - that loud modern sort of disco chorus is just too dance-ecstatic so we give highest marks to whole pack at least for this track. And for the rest too. And almost forgive girl for not releasing "Time Machine" as next single. Though...

Robyn comes to American TV

Can you remember the latest time when any Swedish artist was taking American TV with a storm visiting such a huge TV-shows like The Ellen Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live? At least I can't but who else can represent Sweden on international pop-stage better than this amazing lady can do these days?
Robyn has appeared recently on these two big shows with both her comeback single of 2010 "Dancing On My Own" and her brand new "Call Your Girlfriend" giving it all like she usually does and getting positive response from the audience, you can enjoy performances right now.
Thanx to Pop In Stereo blog for tips.

Teddybears feat. Robyn - Cardiac Arrest

If you thought there was too much of Robyn in 2010, it doesn't mean Robyn will get rest next year. No, we don't have news about her own material for now but we constantly keep getting results of her collaboration with other artists and freshest example is single "Cardiac Arrest" released by Teddybears. Band constantly worked on Robyn's music before, also performing with her live so you're not gonna be surprised by sound of this single, it's pretty recognizable track you could find on one of previous Robyn's albums, so come and get that "Cardiac Arrest", not literally sure!

Robyn in da mix

Triumphal winner of the latest Grammis awards Robyn doesn't plan to slow down tempo of creative activity that was truly on fire last year and spends a lot of time in studio working on new stuff. Does it mean that we'll get new album already this year? Not really clear but what's known for sure is that we'll get another single "Call Your Girlfriend" from the latest part of "Body Talk" series and it already gets massive mix-treatment from Kaskade that sounds like a huge club-anthem we really looking forward to listen it in a full version. Thanx for tips to Pop In Stereo.

Few months ago audience of Oskar Linnros' concert could enjoy great live mash-up of Oskar singing Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" with "Från och med du" arrangement and now this idea gets official release and immediately reached the top of iTunes-chart in Patrik Berger mashup. You can already enjoy it below.

Robyn at Musikhjälpen

Feels like Musikhjälpen studio never had so many viewers outside the walls of glass studio. But no need to be surprised as its guest was the star of international scale and music pride of Sweden - Robyn.
Robyn performed piano-version of "Hang With Me" that probably was more proper for Christmas direction of the show and live-version of "With Every Heartbeat" - quite different from original but very nice. Enjoy!

Indestructible Robyn

We send our warmest congratulations to Robyn who's got to the list of nominees for 53rd Grammy awards that will be held on 13 February 2011 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Robyn has got nominee in category Best Dance Recording for single "Dancing On My Own" and will fight for the victory with Goldfrapp ("Rocket"), La Roux ("In For The Kill"), Lady Gaga ("Dance In The Dark") and Rihanna ("Only Girl (In The World)"). Though getting to nominee is already big victory as many European artists can only dream about it but for Robyn with her heavy promotion in U.S. year touring, performing at VMA and breaking to American radiostations and dancefloors and reaching Top-100 of albums chart with both first parts of "Body Talk" it was fairly to be rewarded by American most respectable awards. Swedish RedOne is also in nominee for the Best Producer so next March Melodifestivalen can get project of Best Producer of the planet and hope Sweden will appreciate it.
Back to Robyn. Recently she has performed at MySpace Secret Show presenting massive set of her latest best hits and you can already check whole event yourself at least just to realize what a hit machine this woman is.

Setlist:
Fembot
Include Me Out
Cobrastyle
Indestructible
Love Kills
The Girl and The Robot
Hang With Me
Dancing On My Own
Be Mine!
In My Eyes
Dream On
With Every Heartbeat

Robyn - Body Talk (3rd EP and final compilation)

Robyn's third pard of trilogy "Body Talk" is finally out in Sweden on previous week together with final compilation "Body Talk" containing 5 songs from every of 3 EPs. So we've logically lost acoustic versions of "Dancing On My Own" and "Hang With Me" and 4 another tracks and we officially miss "Include Me Out" and "Jag Vet En Dejlig Rosa" but still consider final album as real pop-masterpiece that has made many people who even weren't Robyn's fans before follow her career whole year.
Few months ago Robyn presented beautiful acoustic track "Indestructible" with magnificent strings arrangement on previous EP that on "Body talk Pt.3" turned to electropop younger sister of "Dancing On My Own" and "Hang With Me" - light and delicate, maybe not with the same huge hit-potential but still reaching Top-10 in Sweden. However third Robyn's album this year has got some even more exciting thing - "Time Machine" collaboration between Robyn and Swedish biggest export-hitmaker Max Martin mixing some best moments in music of both - fragile sensitivity of Robyn's melodies and magic catchiness of Max Martin's stuff. It's not yet confirmed yet if it's gonna be the next single of Robyn or any of the rest 3 new tracks: "Call Your Girlfriend" - more dynamic and less dramatic version of "Dancing On My Own" with flying huge chorus, "Get Myself Together" - cheerful pop-song with catchy rhythm and "Stars 4-Ever" - colder club-track repetetive but light enough not to be boring. However here's best track of "Body Talk Pt.3" and new enjoyable performance of "Indestructible".

Robyn - Indestructible (video)

Robyn probably should take awards of the most active Swedish pop-star of 2010, it's difficult not to hear any news about her at around week. However these news were long-awaited. Video for new single "Indestructible" opening road for third third part of trilogy "Body Talk" is released and after a short period of tasting new single I can say it's officialy amazing! Robyn always find a keys and words simple but touching and understood to anyone so her songs turn to be something much more sighnificant and deep than common pop-stuff and the latest single proves it one more time. Video for "Indestructible" turned to be quite erotic thing with loads of sex scenes and Robyn in some sort of artificial veins with different color blood running randomly inside. Quite futuristic and hypnotizing picture.
