E.M.D. - There’s A Place For Us (video)

Day before new album release E.M.D. unleash their new video for "There’s A Place For Us" - song that's going to be Swedish bonus-goodies for soundtrack of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". It was pretty amazing idea to collect some biggest young pop-artists from different countries to get more attention to movie in some exact regions so Joe McElderry, Sergey, Sonohra and others have got this song originally made by Carrie Underwood to be covered.
Talking about video it's as most of soundtrack videos is mostly made by formula - cut of best movie's moments (and this cut looks quite epic as whole movie should be) and band singing and posing in decorations composed in a theme of movie. It's minimalistic but it's like it supposed to be so we don't complain. However song is very strong and classic-sounding soundtrack starting from ballad intro and growing till the end to blast, dramatic bridge, slowing down tempo and even stronger blast again. We should remember that guys are from Idol-show so they know how to make Idol-ballad sound properly. Watch the video right below.

Few words about new album titled "Rewind". Except Top-3 single "Save Tonight", "What Is Love" (that hasn't managed to enter chart, unbelieavable!) and "There’s A Place For Us" it will include covers for Coolio ("Gangsta's Paradise"), Fools Garden ("Lemon Tree"), Alanis Morissette ("Ironic") and also international hit-single of Swedish band The Wannadies "You and me song", guys performed it this Summer so you can check it below.

E.M.D. - What Is Love

E.M.D. seems to finally define date of their long-awaited second album "Rewind" on December 3rd (I guess many dreamed about such Christmas present) and ready to perform new official single - another cover from 90s - "What Is Love" by Haddaway. Another big hit from the past in Sweden and undoubtfully another successful single of E.M.D.
Already tomorrow E.M.D. are planning to perform new single on Idol-show (contest that gave birth to every of them - Erik, Mathias and Danny) but single is already digitally on sale so below and here you can listen promo-snippet of E.M.D.'s "What Is Love" that turned to be unexpectedly dark and tragic but very beautiful ballad. Check it!

EMD and Molly Sandén in Gaba Gaba show

Recently EMD and Molly Sandén visited kids Gabba Gabba show on SVT. Molly sang about her sport hobby and EMD about problems of brushing teeth being on tour. All of them looking gorgeous these days so you need to watch it. EMD could easily make it as their new video and Molly as brunette looks hotter than ever, doesn't she?
Thanx for the tips to Swedish Rush.

Night of schlager-mashups

Usually I'm not that big fan of mashups but I should undoubtfully share with you what I've found today! About year ago schlager-community have got ultra-tasty mash-up of Charlotte Perrelli's "Hero" and Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" from DJ King Rollo and today I've discovered another few melo-mixes on his youtube channel. I wonder how perfectly suits EMD's "Baby Goodbye" Briney's "If U Seek Amy" and I've got a biiiig smile listening Kelly Clarkson with a low base singing "Sice U Been Gone" along with Sanna Nielsen's "Empty Room" instrumental. But my prize goes to mashup of Lady Gaga's "Love Game" with Velvet's classsics - "Mi Amore", pure brilliance of "Mi Amore"'s arrangement makes Gaga's hit completely epic! All the mixed songs were written by Swedes so maybe that's why amazingness can't work bad with amazingness?
Oh, and another mix I'd like to show you is old good "Hero" mixed with Timbaland's "The Way I Are". Probably you've heard it before but still it's brilliant!

E.M.D. - Save Tonight (video)

Last Top-5 single of E.M.D. is getting video treatment.
Popular boy-band released their first single from forthcoming album "Rewind" back in May and now when single has fallen out of chart last week band attempted to give it a little more promotion with video showing process of recording new stuff in the studio along with more acoustic and minimal but still very charming arrangement of this song. You could actually watch this shooting in trailer that was presented little earlier.
As I told before E.M.D.'s album will be released on August 25th and will be a tribute to some great hits of 90s. And you can watch video for "Save Tonight" here.

E.M.D. - Save Tonight

Due to information from tv4.se popular boy band E.M.D. consisting of 3 ex-Idol participants - Erik Segerstedt, Mattias Andréasson and Danny Saucedo soon releases second album that's gonna be a tribute to hits of 90s. I should mention that band's life lasts not much more than 2 years but guys has already managed to make 4 #1 singles (+ one #3 and one #22) and #1 album (+ another Christmas album). Was it good idea to make covers-album? You can already judge yourself. First single from album is real classics of Swedish pop - Eagle-Eye Cherry's debut single "Save Tonight" from 1997, world-wide hit that reached #6 in UK chart and #5 of US chart. Cover turned to be incredibly nice and pleasant ballad with very beautiful instrumental part. You can listen to it right now.

Swedish music summer's starting!

As it happens every year this summer we'll be able to catch many open-air tv-performances on Swedish TV, probably it won't bring as much joy to pop-followers as attendance of famous Rix-FM festival and if you come to Sweden in closer few months I extremely recommend you to visit it. Well, those who can't visit Sweden can follow shows like Sommarkrysset, Allsång på Skansen and Lotta på Liseberg (to name a few). Yesterday we could see first show Sommarkrysset this year from park Gröna Lund in Stockholm and it has given us premiere of Orup's new single "Tiden Bara Gick", spring hit of this year "Manboy" by Eric Saade and performance of Swedish pop-queens Velvet and Linda Bengtzing with "Victorious" in all their fabolousness and amazingness with guest performance of the winner of Brittish X-Factor Alexandra Burke, not less than EMD were the hosts of the show yesterday and next week show will be hosted by fröken Bengtzing with performance of Timoteij, Eric Gadd and Rebound.

Orup - Medley (Live Sommarkrysset 2010)
Eric Saade - One Summer (Live Sommarkrysset 2010)
Alexandra Burke - Bad Boys (Live Sommarkrysset 2010)

Congratulations to E.M.Dad!

Winning last season of "Let's Dance" was not the last happy news in the family of Mattias Andréasson (Idol-2008, E.M.D). Expressen reports that in the end of autumn Mattias' girlfriend Catarina Norén will give him a child. Couple didn't think about engagement and right now Mattias is busy recording second album of E.M.D. First single is out very soon and just like band's first single from previous album it will be cover again. This time Eagle-Eye Cherry's "Save Tonight"!
