Jill Johnson and Rascal Flatts - Come Wake Me Up

Jill Johnson's new album "A Woman Can Change Her Mind" has made a debut at #3 of Swedish chart and this is already her 7th release for 7 years which doesn't miss Top-3 proving Jill's status of one of the most successful Swedish country-singers.
Jill releases second single from new album and this is duo with not less than Rascal Flatts - beautiful country-pop ballad "Come Wake Me Up" with a classic powerful growth nicely joining voices of Jill and Rascal Flatts' vocalist into what could be one of the greatest Lady Antebellum's singles.

Rosa Bandet - 2012

This year's Rosa Bandet (Pink Ribbon) show has grown to something bigger than one-night concert. TV3 has gathered nine Swedish pop-stars (Lill-Babs, Sonja Aldén, Linda Sundblad, Jill Johnson, Sanne Salomonsen, Alex Saidac, Arja Saijonmaa, Pauline and Molly Sandén) to make three shows dividing them by three with a talk-part and live-concert part. And has made a big gala with them afterwards (you can check it here). Good idea but how nice it has become for real you can realize watching some performances below.

Jill Johnson - A Woman Can Change Her Mind

One of the most productive Sweden's singer Jill Johnson has prepared a new album "A Woman Can Change Her Mind" to be out on November 7th.
The first sneek peak of the album is the same-ttiled single - big dramatic pop-rock song, darker and less country than you can expect from Jill (but you know that Jill is always one foot in country no matter what). Singer has presented the song and some more tracks from upcoming album today in Nyhetsmorgon studio this weekend, don't miss them below.

Merry Christmas, dear readers! Swedish TV presents a nice set of Christmas concerts with wonderful bunch of Swedish pop artists and we're gonna check what you've probably missed but still can watch online.

Christmas-Jill on Swedish TV

Jill Johnson is one busy lady this Christmas promoting new charity album "Välkommen jul" and visiting some big TV-show to perform her fresh stuff.
Last week she has appeared in JulLotta to perform "Flirting With Disaster", "I Väntan På Julen" and "O Holy Night" (by the way you can watch Timoteij singing Swedish version of "Hallelujah" at 25.35 here). And today she participated in SVT's traditional Lucia concert singing "Away In a Manger" and "I Väntan På Julen" again. You can watch it below.
By the way look what I've found - Darin joining Jill on the stage to make cover of "Need You Now" during Christmas concert, Jill has completely oushined him unfortunately but still it was great idea.

Jill Johnson - Välkommen jul

Seems like this year all Christmas releases will be out spontaneously and unexpectedly and here we get another example - new Jill Johnson's "Välkommen jul" released in collaboration with Childhood charity organization (last year it was Måns Zelmerlöw who has released his "Christmas With Friends" in the same collaboration). So you'll be able to find "Välkommen jul" only in ICA shops.
Album was recorded with Gävle symphony orchestra and due to presented sampler it's gonna be classic Christmas album with huge orchestral sound and Tommy Körberg with Stefan Sundström as featuring guests.

Jill Johnson - Flirting With Disaster

Jill Johnson's new album "Flirting With Disaster" is out next week.
Singer was showing incredible creative activity through 00ies not missing a year to release new album or compilation and this summer she has started to present new stuff on TV and during live gigs. You can already check samples from Tjuvlyssna blog below and acording to them "Flirting With Disaster" sounds like classic country album, exactly like it should sound in 2011. Jill puts all her talent and soul into this work and it's enough to make it beautiful, atmospheric and fresh, great background for autumn rainy day to listen with a cup of tea and sunny memories of the last summer.
By the way as bonus-track you can also see "Song To Heaven" co-written by Molly Sandén and released at Jill's recently released compilation "The Well-Known And Some Other Favourite Stories".

Kalle Moraeus and his guests

We've got a new music tv-show "Moraeus med mera" at SVT, artists visit Kalle Moraeus singing their (and not only) hits with a live band and it feels...well, at least original, we didn't expect "In The Club" to go as folk as it sounded.
it's not gonna be too much about pop-goodies but fans of Scendinavian folk-atmosphere should be definitely pleased.
First episode's guests were Danny with his own latest singles, Danish singer Mads Langer, one and only Jill Johnson with new song "While You're Sleeping" and Hammerfall.

Danny, Jill, Joacim, Mads & Kalle - Beatrice
Kalle Moraeus - Hjortingens Polka

Sommarysset finishes its season with performances of two Melodifestivalen winners and popular Swedish divas Lena Philipsson and Jill Johnson.

This summer we watch every Lena's live performance as degustation of what (or to be exact - how) she's gonna present at new season of Så Mycket Bättre and during performance at Sommarkrysset Lena's gonna be on fire of Swedish folk's love this winter as it was all sorts of amazing!

Jill Johnson - Stumble And Fade Away

Country-queen and one of the most beautiful singers of Sweden Jill Johnson is back with compillation "The Well-Known And Some Other Favourite Stories" containing 2 discs of old hits with some brand new songs and live-disk. Whole pack is going to be released on October 27th and the first single "Stumble And Fade Away" is already out!
Jill Johnson's music career has started back in 80ies when she being teenager started touring as vocalist around Scandinavia in country group Tomboola Band and released her first hit "Sugar Tree" in Denmark, later in 1996 she's released her first hit "Kommer tid, kommer vår" in Sweden in duet with Jan Johansen (winner of Melodifestivalen-1995). That was quite interesting point as in 2 years she won Melodifestivalen-1998 herself with the song "Kärleken är" (with lyrics inspired by Princess Diana's story that attracted attention of Brittish press). Seems like creative activity of Jill never took big pauses so she was recording albums with some top Nashville musicians, made successful records in Denmark and sure got loads of attention in Sweden. However first really successful record was released by Jill in 2003 right after her comeback to Melodifestivalen with hit "Crazy In Love" that achieved 4th place in final and compilation "Discography" released in a month sold platinum and received Grammis. All the later albums of Jill coming out rarely with period more than year got to Top-5 and now time has come for another compilation of Jill's greatest hits.
First single "Stumble And Fade Away" is amazing country-pop song with slight touch of some Celine Dion's biggest hits and all passion and charm of Jill's vocal. Check it right now!

Lotta på Liseberg: review of final episodes

When Allsång På Skansen was losing its viewers previous weeks Anders Lindin's biggest rival Lotta Engberg has lost something more important - voice, right before the final show - during programme, how catastrophic! It turned worse and worse every time she started to read her text and finally she ended up standing behind Jill Johnson who was asked to finish show instead of Lotta, you can watch full drama here. But thanx God she has recovered closer to the last show and closed season of Lotta På Liseberg-2010 with all usual expression and charm.
Let's see who was invited to last shows in Liseberg. Firstly it was Timoteij who performed both of their hits "Kom" and "Högt över ängarna", girls were sweet as always. Eric Gadd who recently released new album "Rise Up!" (peaking at #6 of Swedish chart) that I'd like to tell you about soon presented last single "Rise Up!" and his old hit "My Personality". Måns Zelmerlöw and Maria Haukaas Storeng as always perfectly performed their collaboration "Precious To Me" (how pity it hasn't become hit in Sweden yet). Lill-Babs have sung Carlene Carter's old song "Full orkan". One of the biggest public favorites Andreas Johnson performed his biggest international hit "Glorious" and single-2006 "Sing for me". Cookies n Beans have pleased people with their unique voices and songs "First we take Manhattan" and "Kings & Queens". Melodifestivalen-winner Anna Bergendahl presented her platinum single "This is my life", song "Got my heart in your pocket" from her debut album, Robert Broberg's cover "Båtlåt" and duet with Jill Johnson "Why do you come in here looking like that" - Dolly Parton's cover that Jill released 3 years ago with Nina Persson. Jill also was singing Eagles' cover "Desperado" and Ted Gärdestad's "Oh vilken härlig dag". And Rigo performed summer set of "La bamba", Claes-Göran Hederström's "Det börjar verka kärlek banne mig" and "Stockholm ström" in his own original style. Last show featured Eric Saade who was singing three of his singles "Manboy", "Break Of Dawn" and "Masquerade", Caroline af Ugglas presented new songs "Du får tycka om mig" and "Vill kunna säga förlåt" from her new album planned for release in September and Tommy Körberg has been singing Astrid Lindgren's "Fattig bonddräng" and Neil Diamond's "Red red wine".

Melostars at Stockholm Pride week

During Stockholm Pride week Linda Bengtzing, Anna Bergehdahl, Jill Johnson, Sarah Dawn Finer and Magnus Carlsson gave English interviews to oikotimes and great news are that both Magnus and Linda are definitely want to come back to a big spotlight of future Melodifestivalen. Linda seems to be especially eager about comeback. Unfortunately Sarah is not so eager about it but doesn't want to say she'll never do it again. Well, you'd better check it yourself right below.
