Jessica Andersson - Ge Inte Upp

Three years have passed since Jessica Andersson's debut album "Wake Up" release which hasn't turned schlager-disco as many MF-fans hoped and it seems like the second album which is planned to be out this Spring is going to surprise as well.
Recently Jessica have presented brand new song "Ge Inte Upp" which is going to be on the album live in Bingolotto and it has become a nice schlager pop-rock, something suiting old Linda Bengtzing's albums but this pack is milder, more dramatic and quite promising.

Allsång på Skansen: Loreen, Charlotte Perrelli, Kalle Moraeus, Norlie & KKV

When you start thinking Loreen can't surprise you with a new performance of "Euphoria" she enters the stage and shocks with her energy and THE VOICE! This time she has also made an absolutely epic performance with drums explored by her in a mini-tour she makes in Sweden right now.
We've already got Diggiloo-gang with Charlotte Perrelli, Jessica Andersson, Markoolio, Magnus Carlsson and The Moniker. Kalle Moraeus was making his "Underbart" and playing with Alexander Rybak.
Norlie & KKV were a nice live-discovery for me and Lasse Stefanz, well, not the stuff I usually writes about.

Makoolio - En kväll i juni
Lasse Stefanz - Hitmedley

Jessica Andersson wins Let's Dance-2011!

Second season in a row musician wins Let's Dance season, after Måns Zelmerlöw winning first season of Let's Dance back in 2006 last year it was EMD's Mattias and now Jessica Andersson with her dance partner has taken this victory.
We're truly proud for Jessica, send our congratulations to her and share with you tonight's performances which helped her to win. Our favorite is showdance "I Will Survive/Hush Hush" with Jessica in stunning silver dress singing beginning of the song (yes, she's almost fallen but it's just a small detail), though bugg "Honey Honey" and slowfox "Pack Up" had so much charm as well!

Premiere of "Let's Dance" with Jessica Andersson, Andreas Weise and Hannah Graaf

New season of popular "Let's Dance" show has collected mass of famous faces again and as we've got a lot of musicians I should undoubtfully give you a tip about this show if some of your faves participates there.
To be more exact we've got Jessica Andersson, Hannah Graaf, Idol-jury Anders Bagge, Idol-participant Andreas Weise, not really Swedish Alexander Rybak and loads of live music (Taio Cruz, Robyn, Donkeyboy, Salem al Fakir, Cee Lo Green, etc.) with bright-coloured dance-show. Sure this sort of shows isn't beloved by anyone but it's still stays popular in many countries and it's quite enjoyable to watch some well-known charecters trying to do their best in dance. Jessica Andersson looked gorgeous in her long purple dress and Andreas Weise's funny facial expressions haven't left anyone cold, check it yourself below.
By the way Da Buzz's new re-released version of latest single "U Gotta Dance" has become soundtrack for "Let's Dance" trailer but it's another story that I'll tell you as soon as we'll get this new version online.

Magnus Bäcklund - Julens Hemlighet

We keep track of multiple Christmas releases wave which is as massive this year as actually always and this time we've even got comeback of our beloved schlagerstar Magnus Bäcklund.
Seems like after break-up of popular duo Fame female part of it Jessica Andersson never disappeared for a long time and last year was especially active for her with release of debut solo-album "Wake Up" last Autumn, participating in Melodifestivalen with the song "I Did It For Love" and The Queen tribute tour "Champions of rock". But we didn't get to know a lot about her Fame-partner Magnus Bäcklund after release of his solo-album "Never Say Never" in 2006. This year his name floated out when Idol-2009 winner Erik Grönwall released debut-single "Crash and Burn" (not considering Idol-winning song) that turned to be cover from "Never Say Never". Small scandal as it was presented as original Erik's stuff but rush of attention to Magnus. However Magnus kept touring and was involved in music without some loud releases though. He's got hard times recently when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer but after operation she's getting better and doctors are sure illness has gone so family has a chance to get back to a normal life and Magnus' getting back to his career with new Christmas single "Julens Hemlighet" - original track written by Alexander Holmgren, Anders Grahn, Troy Tuminelli and Juan Carlos Perez Soto. It's a classic sounding Christmas song with a proper warm feeling built on exactly that lovely schlager-tune you could expect from old good Fame-Magnus and you can enjoy its preview below.

Nina Söderquist, Jessica Andersson and Sarah Dawn Finer in Doobiduets

Here I'm gonna give you tips about some brilliant latest performances at Doobidoo as every year it provides some brilliant collaborations and this year is not exception.

Nina Söderquist came back to the spotlights at Doobidoo collaborating with actor Kim Sulocki, very soon Nina is going to give a birth to her first baby and to see her huge performance after gorgeous performance on Melodifestivalen-2009 ("Tick Tock" was the best and the most underrated song of the year after "Moving On" in my opinion) is completely amazing as Nina is natural born entertainer, I hardly can name another artist putting as many artistry and expression into any performance. It's completely crazy performance of GES' "En Jävel På Kärlek" and this is so damn lovely!!!

Jessica Andersson with comic Tomas Pettersson performed rock'n'roll version of Roxette's "The Look". Both particiated in Diggiloo tour this year so it wasn't the first experience of performing together and it turned to be as full of life as rock'n'roll can be.

And the third Doobidoo-duet is from Sarah Dawn Finer and Claes Malmberg making cover for Lisa Ekdahl's hit "Vem Vet". And which are the greatest moments of this duet?
1) Trumpet imitating by Sarah. How does she do it??? She could make acoustic concert with only her vocal and trumpet by her voice. She could dig beatbox also and it would be amazing show! Seriously!
2) Flashback to 1994 when Sarah as 13-years-old girl participated in another tv-show with Claes.
3) Sarah by default. Why should I give other reasons when Sarah is so adorable and worthy to see in any live performance?

Glitter and glamour of Lotta på Liseberg

"Glitter and glamour". This was the theme of yesterday show Lotta på Liseberg and this time Lotta Engberg invited bunch of artists participating this year in summer tour Diggiloo - Alcazar, Jessica Andersson, Erik Linder, Lasse Holm, Morgan "Mojje" Johansson and others so all who can't visit Diggiloo show this year could see what they're missing. One of the brightest highlights of evening was schlager-medley of Melodifestivalen-2010, it was really nice to see Jessica Andersson singing song of her Second Chance rival Kalle Moraeus, Mojje singing Neo's "Human Frontier" with live arrangement and Alcazar and Erik Linder singing their own songs. Unfortunately Lina Hedlund couldn't perform, few days ago rehearsing she collapsed and due to problems with health connected with operation she went through this Spring Andreas and Lina had to perform without her. Jessica Andersson also performed her own Melodifestivalen entry "I Did It For Love" sounding and looking really fierce! Sure audience wasn't left without traditional karaoke with Lotta and participants, this time everyone could sing along After Dark's "La Dolce Vita", Lena Philipsson's "Dansa I Neon", Abba's "Dancing Queen", Herrey's "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley", etc. You can watch whole show here.

Jessica Andersson - I did it for love
Diggiloo-gänget - Relight my fire

Melodifestivalen-2010: Update

Some latest news about what's going on with participants of Melodifestivalen-2010.

Timoteij will release new single "Högt över ängarna" from debut album "Längtan" on June 30th.

In the beginning of May Expressen reported about Neo who after all stresses he's got in the MF-period got serious case of vestibular neuritis and had to learn how to go, now Neo's back and as a proof he performed his MF-single "Human Frontier" and previous "Flower Power Supergirl" in acoustic.

NEO - Flower Power Supergirl (live at Nyhetsmorgon)

In days of Midsommar Peter Jöback got married with his boyfriend Oscar Nilsson. You could see Andreas Lundstedt, Pernilla Wahlgren and Sarah Dawn Finer among guests. Short interview from wedding is here.

Don't forget to visit blog of Jenny Silver as you can find some interesting demos that she's recording with her husband.

Song "Vilar Glad I Din Famn" written by Benny Andersson and Kristina Lung and performed with participance of Orsa Spelmän & Kalle Moraeus gets it's single-release apart from other songs from princess Victoria's wedding included in special compilation "Bröllopsmusiken från Storkyrkan". Benny Andersson commented that he wasn't interested in putting his name among merchandising of this event. By the way Kalle Moraeus along with Salem al Fakir, Anna Bergendahl, Timoteij and Eric Saade few weeks ago received golden status of his latest album "Underbart".

Anna Bergendahl's "This Is My Life" keeps conquering hearts of European audience and is currently at #13 in chart of one of the biggest Lithuanian radiostations M-1, week before the song also appeared in Hungarian chart. Anna along with many other artists performed in Kungsträdgården at Love Stockholm 2010 and looked very-very nice in her beautiful dress (thanx to Vitaliy for photos).

Lovestoned released their album "Rising Love" in Germany, sure band has tried to make this edition special for their German fans and included new song "Who's That Girl", that you can listen below.

Currently Jessica Andersson's "I Did It For Love" is #1 in the oldest Swedish radio-chart Svensktoppen (with following "Underbart" at #2, "Keep On Walking" at #3 and "Kom" at #9), Jessica plans new single but promise next album only next Spring.

Anders Ekborg prepares for release of his album "Painted Dreams" but before we'll get new single "I Do Believe" on July 7th. You can listen piece of new single and another duet with Helen Sjöholm "Always Here" below.

And finally I need to mention that currently we can find only winners of 4 semifinals of MF-2011 in Swedish single-chart.

13 - Timoteij - Kom
22 - Eric Saade - Manboy
28 - Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life
60 - Salem Al Fakir - Keep On Walking
