Brilliant pieces of Idrottsgalan 2011

Idrottsgalan is annual awards where Sweden as sport-loving and health-caring nation praises people achieving success internationally and proudly representing Sweden in the world of sport.
Every year Idrottsgalan becomes show connecting all country together in front of TV-screens with breathtaking pre-win pauses, funny jokes and big pop-stars with some special performances. This year among biggest music guests of the show in Globen were Darin, Molly Sandén, Johnossi and Måns Zelmerlöw. Darin delivered colourful disco-performance of opening and closing the show with The Jacksons' "Can You Feel It" (yep, we remember that Michael is the biggest Darin's Idol), Molly Sandén performed classic cover of "Forever Young" (this girl was born to stand on the stage in hero poses singing some anthemic ballads and she did it again as stunning as she can), Måns Zelmerlöw with Lisette Pagler performed some sort of trailer for musical Romeo & Julia (that was hmm...not trivial!), Johnossi was singing Summer hit "What's The Point" and Lena-Maria Klingvall (amazing singer, swimmer and painter born without hands but achieving so much more than people use to!) performed cover of "You Raise Me Up" with Nacka Musikklasser. You can check all performances below.

Johnossi - Mavericks

Yesterday I've realized that I've missed one of the best rock-albums of the year, I really hope that forthcoming Grammis will fix my fault but finally I can do it myself.
Rock duo Johnossi has got to the spot of Swedish and international public already few years ago when they released 2 albums and has got interest to their music across Europe, US and Japan, not missing opportunity of active touring all over the world wherever they were invited. This year they've made a most successful shot in Sweden with album "Mavericks" that reached #4 and I'd like to dig it a bit.
"Mavericks" is dark intro-track leading you through the tunnels of the magic music world of Johnossi, the more you listen the more you realize you're not gonna leave this world so easy being lost in melancholic guitar riffs and mystic echoes of this music. "Dead end" is the latest single from the album, more life-assering and driveous with beautiful electric gutar sound and The Killers vibes. "Houses" present Johnossi with a new side, melody-massive with relaxed lazy rhythm. "Roscoe" finally gives some more hopeful rays of light with huge poppy melody of chorus and hard beat in verses. "Bed on Fire" is acoustic ballad unexpectedly decreasing high energy of the album. "What's the Point" was released as the first single (getting to Top-20) and turned to be powerful Summerish rock-single with amazing mix from Bassflow that I'd recommend to all pop-fans. "No Last Call" is filled with rock'n'roll atmosphere and nice rhytm-section. "Come Along (There's a Gene)" brings our back to melodic path but more complicated and hypnotizing with soft guitar riffs. "Worried Ground" is sad but still pulsing with life in mysterious sound of Johnossi. And the final album track is "Sickness" - calm and peaceful song at least as much calm as Johnossi can afford themselves to be.
Here are both singles from "Mavericks" but I'd advice you to shut your eyes when you'll be listening as imagination paints a better pictures for this music.

Some brilliant pieces of Summer with Sommarkrysset

Sommarkrysset keeps presenting some great hits of this Summer along with amazing performances. Firstly I should mention premieres of new Darin's song "Microphone" - one of the greatest tracks from just released album "Lovekiller" (Darin also presented his last single "Lovekiller") and comeback-single of Patrik Isaksson "Mitt Stockholm" - quite pleasant melodic song in usual Patrik's style. Lovestoned promoting currently single "Rising Girl" in Sweden has provided joyful performance of the song. Folk's favorite Ola who's ready to release his next album has sung his Summer hit "Overdrive". Fabulous schlager-diva Sanna Nielsen obviously beloved by the crowd presented her Summer single "Devotion" with choir and Celine Dion's "That's The Way It Is". Broken Door performed their hit "Angel" behind girls providing the most weird angelic choreography that could be imagined if real angels came down to dance at Gröna Lund stage but however it didn't make the song less brilliant and I should notice that soon band will release new single "In the Shadow". Rock-band Johnossi has also decided to perform well-known hit of this Summer "What's the point" as Oskar Linnros with "Från och med du" and Kikki Danielsson with "Let this light shine forever". Flo Rida was invited as foreign guest and being very well met by public performed David Guetta's produced "Club can’t handle me".

Darin - Microphone
Darin - Lovekiller
Johnossi - What's The Point
Patrik Isaksson - Mitt Stockholm
Flo Rida – Club can’t handle me
Sanna Nielsen - Thats the way it is
Lovestoned - Rising girl
Oskar Linnros - Från och med du
Ola - Overdrive
Broken door - Angel
Sanna Nielsen - Devotion
