Vacuum - I Loved You (Retrixxed)

Seems like Vacuum is coming back well prepared! First we've got a new single "I Loved You", then the video was premiered and now we have a pack of new remixes premiered on a band's youtube channel marked as "I Loved You - Retrixxed" (the official title of EP to come out? we don't know for sure).
While the first Vampir - Progglabb remix has become an electronic dance-track based on a very nice synth-sample enlightening the whole drama of the song, the second Vampir - BassRadar remix sounds like a more experimental, heavier electronic remix. I prefer the first but you can check both of them below.

Vacuum - I Loved You

Finally it's here!!! Brand new Vacuum's single "I Loved You" is presented in a form of a new video directed by Katarina Di Leva.
Our expectations wasn't wrong, the song has got a massive influences from "My Whole Life is Leading Up To This" dark synthpop-era. At the same time in common track is very light though being utterly sad and thoughtful and even if the video tries to make it desparately dark. Vacuum can go acoustic, can go electronic, can go any experimental way but the final result will always stay truly beautiful and artistic.

Vacuum - I Loved You (teaser)

Vacuum unleashes a teaser of a brand new video, the first in 8 years!
The last one was shot in 2004 for the single "They Do It" from the album "Your Whole Life Is Leading Up To This" - probably the darkest and the purest electronic album in project's discography. Initially Vacuum was presented as a synthpop-band but they seemed to never sound so heavy synth-inspired like on this album. Further singles like "Six Billion Voices", "Walk On The Sun", "Black Angels" has brought band to experimental pop-area not directly attached to any definite direction and to a frequent flirt with acoustics but now it looks like they bring the atmosphere of "Your Whole Life Is Leading Up To This" back.
In the first seconds of upcoming band's single "I Loved You" you can start thinking it's a piano-based track of "Know By Now" family right before it instantly turns to a dark piece of heavy electronic sound with a haunting echo of Mattias' voice somewhere in the depths. Very promising snippet and as the more views it'll get the sooner we'll listen to a full verion don't hesitate to spread it.

Vacuum live in Ukraine

Oh, how fantastic!!! In the beginning of June Vacuum presented their new track "Black Angels" that we've fallen for from the first listen and recommend you to check it right now if you didn't!
This week Mattis Lindblom has arrived to Kiev to perform (yesterday) in Kiev Planetarium and while we're waiting for reponses from our friends who visited this concert you can already check lovely meeting of the band with fans and live-performance of Vacuum at Shuster-live TV-show with their biggest hit "I Breathe" and new single "Black Angels" that project (and we) has high hopes on. Mattias always sounds brilliant live and this time it wasn't exception. If I saw Vacuum's performance for the first time in my life I could easily think it's playback, so good it is!

Vacuum - Black Angels

Every time Vacuum is coming back with a new single - to disappear for another year, to make acoustic experimental track or even just to announce that soon we're gonna get some fresh exciting piece of their music it causes loud happy YAY here!!!
Later this month Vacuum is visiting Kiev to make big gig for their fans and band celebrates this event releasing new single "Black Angels" being independent with no label's support or budget behind but only inspiration and it sounds really amazing!
"Black Angels" is absolutely wonderful mix of electronic music, folk-vibes and acoustic sound united with big warm pop-tune breathing with something natural that got lost in modern pop-music with all electronic templates everyone is trying to copy from successful artists trends but this is really soulful and at the same time quite poppy, beautiful release born inside of its own music universe and living its own life if you take it or not. And we really appreciate it!

Fresh breath of Vacuum

I've just found out that for almost half a year of this blog life I never told you about one of my most favorite Swedish projects ever - Vacuum, so I will now!
Vacuum turned to be unexpectable sensation of 1996 when Alexander Bard who was well-known for his international massive pop-project Army Of Lovers has put the group on hold and started completely different project - not less extravagant but in its own way. Dark synth-pop sung by androginy-styled vocalist Mattias Lindblom and Alexander with another new face Marina Schiptjenko on keyboards, they sang about science, religion, culture, the whole conception turned to combined fresh idea in accessible and strong pop-music so it turned to be a blast on international level and many parts of Europe have given up without a fight after debut single "I Breathe". It has also peaked at #2 in home country and debut album "The Plutonium Cathedral" reached #12 that's not bad at all. Without pause Vacuum released the album "Seance at the Chaebol" that was more targetted to other European countries. In the end of 90s Alexander turned to new project Alcazar and only Marina and Mattias were left as active members of Vacuum (with Anders Wollbeck as permanent songwriter from the beginning of the project) and soon they released two re-editions of the last album with some new songs so all the singles of band - "Science Of The Sacred", "Let The Mountain Come To Me", "Pride In My Religion", "Tonnes Of Attraction", "Icaros", "Starting Where The Story Ended" were still floating around European radiostations and music channels.
When Marina has left the band and gone to BWO Mattias and Anders released new album "Your Whole Life Is Leading Up To This" - less commercial and darker electronic with singles "Fools Like Me", "They Do It", "The Void" demonstrating refreshed side of Vacuum. Through last 10 years Anders and Mattias also worked as songwriting team with many Swedish and international artists like Alcazar, Julie Bethelsen, Rachel Stevens, Nouveau Riche, Magnus Carlsson, Daniel Lindström, Monrose, Tarja Turunnen, Cinema Bizarre, Garou and many others.
Few years ago "Your Whole Life Is Leading Up To This" has got re-edition with new songs "Walk On The Sun" and "Only Human" and though it's not the latest singles I'd like to show you these songs, they are different but both amazing, when "Walk On The Sun" is powerful rhythmic pop-rock radio-killer, "Only Human" is more gentle acoustic-guitar based song - thoughtful and touching to goosebumps with amazing vocal of Mattias.
Vacuum still keeps releasing new songs, recently performing set of new ones so I hope soon I'll be able to tell you about their next album.
