Lena Philipsson - Idiot

Lena Phillipsson is back with brand new single "Idiot" and brand new sound!
Few weeks ago we've got a first alert about Lena's new single written by Magnus Lidehäll who worked before with Kylie and sure have got some high expectations about this comeback.
Finally "Idiot" has arrived and work has turned to be quite pleasant disco-pop, very soft, very gentle, with some Kylie vibes. Sure many expected some hardcore disco-anthem in a vein of "Det Gör Ont", but it's completely different story. The most important things here in my opinion are:
1) Lena's back from retro-style of her duet album with Orup realizing that her fans need more dancey stuff;
2) she looks very fresh and charming as always;
3) she has really modernized her sound and if she'll decide to make some disco-bomb in future it'll be something truly explosive. Let's hope it's just a matter of time!

Killabite - Follow Me Home

Sweden always attracts many artists around the world gathering them in local studios to give a birth to new hits from Swedish songwriters and producers. This time I'd like to tell you about international project Killabite that seems to settle in Sweden for a long time to fill its bag with some great music stuff.
Legend says that Matt and Chao being interested in aliens, paranormal concepts and so on have met at an underground UFOlogists Anonymous Club meeting in LA. Music that they've decided to make together was also planned to reflect their interests being full of cosmic sounds and proper science fiction atmosphere. Few years ago they were mentioned by international-community with pretty successful cover "Puttin’ On The Ritz" (under "the you know who..." name). Work and life in Scandinavia has brought them to new impressive colaboration with Axwell and Alexander Kronlund on new track "Follow Me Home". Pretty interesting electro-pop track, Alexander worked (among million of other records) on last Robyn's album "Body Talk" and tasty chorus line smells Robyn a lot, when verses are based on filtered robo-vocals. Band seems to be creative not only when it's up to music but in live performances, check yourself one of them below and don't forget to download very nice mix of "Follow Me Home" for free here.

Danny and Swingfly are winners of first Melodifestivalen-semifinal!

Tonight Sweden's bigest music celebration Melodifestivalen has officialy started in front of millions tv-viewers not only inside of Sweden but among many melofans abroad.
As almost everytime we've got some expected winners and some schlager-scandals with completely unexpected fails.
The biggest favorite by all polls and odds (and by rumours Christer Björkman's favorite) - Danny with his dance-anthem "In The Club" has taken first place of semifinal in the first round of voting leaving Le Kid, Swingfly, Jenny Silver and Pernilla Andersson for the next one. Unfortunately Dilba has taken - 8th, Jonas Matsson - 7th and Rasmus Viberg - 6th. In a second round Le Kid were left outside 5th, when Swingfly has become another winner and Pernilla with Jenny qualified to Second Chance.
Our thoughts about results. It's almost physically painful to realize that sweet little Dilba with her brave attempt to make step in new for her dance-genre and Le Kid making their schlager-trip such a bright spot of whole competition haven't qualified! Rasmus' song was also very good and he's undoubtfully talented guy so I'm looking forward to listen his new music. We supported Jonas from the beginning and we still do but competition this year has turned too tough. Swingfly has surprised many, I don't think that live-performance was stable enough but still it's enjoyable track that (along with "In The Club") is hard to call internal and it's a very good sign of more open-minded selection looking for international hit. Our heavy support in Second Chance goes to Jenny Silver with her stunning schlager "Something In Your Eyes" and not less great show.
Videos of qualifiers are quite fast taken away from youtube so here are videos of artists who were not lucky enough tonight.

Melonight of Le Kid

Tonight Le Kid will perform new single "Oh My God" in the first semifinal of Melodifestivalen-2011 and what can we expect from project that firstly made Internet pop-community to fall in love with them? Right, loads of pretty cool promo-steps like publishing one of their not promoted yet tracks pop-dynamite "We Are The Drums" that I gave you a tips about few weeks ago and brand new song "Kiss Me" (very kind track with slight retro-touch) that was along with "Oh My God" sent to MF, has made it to top-list but hasn't passed the last stage of jury-selection. You can check samples of both songs below!
Le Kid also gets help of their friends Alcazar, Sarah Dawn Finer, Magnus Carlsson anfd Orup asking their fans to support Le Kid. We also hope Sweden will be welcome to this amazing band and will reward them with breakthrough and brightest future career.
P.S. Melodifestivalen will be aired tonight at 20.00 of local time here.
All studio-versions are available here!!!

Same Difference feat Alcazar - Karma Karma

One of the most glorious rejects of Melodifestivalen-2010 gets its release in UK!
When Alcazar have taken part in last year Melodifestivalen "Headlines" wasn't the only song they could compete with. "Karma Karma" written by Sharon Vaughn and Anders Hansson and produced by Anders with Le Kid's Felix Persson and Märta Grauers has got to the top of entries but hasn't reached the final selection. However track has got its life but not on new Alcazar's album. Brittish pop-duo Same Difference that started its post-The X Factor career with brilliant Jörgen Elofsson and Paul Westerlund "We R One" has got new Swedish help for the second album "The Rest Is History" from Tony Nilsson, Hanne Sørvaag ("The Rest Is History", "Emotion") and amazing team of "Karma Karma" including vocals of Alcazar.
What we've got is real modern disco-pop-gem with modern production, anthemic chorus, "o-o-o"-part (one of 345673 brilliant features of Swedish pop) and tonnes of Alcazar-positive energy.
You should also check epic pop-ballad "The Rest Is History" in a style of last Darin's album with recognizable powerful Tony's production with tough beats and very touching chorus tune. On the other hand you'd never realized that "Emotion" is Tony Nilsson's written but still very nice song. Check samples of the album here and here.
