Long awaited opening ceremony of Stoclkholm's Friends Arena has attracted a lot of truly big names of Swedish pop presenting mostly their fresh stuff. Loreen, Danny, Icona Pop, Roxette, Tommy Körberg, First Aid Kit and Agnes were among the first artists trying the scale of stadium. And surely it has turned quite impressive + 1) exciting as next year's Melodifestivalen final will be having these epic scales 2) sad as next year's Eurovision will not.
The whole show is blocked abroad but here are the most interesting separate performances leaked on Youtube.

Time for collecting some great mashups made lately by DJ Nicky, Fred Haze and Dr Pihl. Don't know if I should introduce original songs as all of them are already hits that you heard million times before. But how wonderfully Max Martin-penned "Wide Awake" fits Roxette's "Wish I Could Fly" probably has amazed me the most.

Roxette and Basslow's remake is proven combination of something truly poptastic and at least not any worse than original version. Last year Peter Boström has made re-production of Roxette's "Speak To Me" and now band releases new single - track "The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye" from Roxette's "Joyride"-era of 1991 (to be exact "Spending My Time"'s b-side) and again this is Peter who takes responsibility for the single version. The song supposed to be on band's latest album "Travelling" but wasn't ready in time but thanks God it's released on its own.
The result has become incredibly EPIC, this is epicness of "Speak To Me" blown up by the rockiness of the track and gosebumps-giving layers from producer of "Euphoria". With the beauty of original version's tune we get one of the most beautiful singles in Roxette's discography that you can listen below.

New Roxette's single "It's Possible" has got its big and beautiful video which is becoming some sort of advert of new album's title - "Travelling".
This is probably the most dynamic video of the band since "Room Service" era and just like the song is going to be classic hit of this grand pop-duo.

Should I even say that it's always utterly exciting to get some fresh music from these Swedish pop legends? So let's get excited a bit more. Band will release brand new single "It's Possible" already tomorrow and today we get a sneak peek of it.
The track blends classic rock'n'roll Roxette mood with modern production (how you would imagine Roxette-2012) probably even better than any track on "Charm School". I guess this is what I expected from opening track of "Charm School". It's a bit darker than "She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio)", a bit more mystic but it contains everything you love about Roxette.

New Roxette's "Speak To Me" video is out and just like the video for the latest Swedish single "Way Out" it's another documentary cut.
To be honest this track deserved much more, in Bassflow version it has become the biggest music highlight of Roxette's comeback to us and we expected single to get a heavier promotion and proper music video.
However band has released "Greatest Hits" compilation in US recently and currently records songs for another album being on tour so probably guys save resources for a new stuff.

Roxette's new single from "Charm School" album is announced and (at least in Germany) it will be opening track of the album - "Way Out".
Quite unexpected single choise for me as the song sounds more like great tour warming up song but not directly what radio can fall for, however it's atmospheric old-school rock'n'roll song that sounds really warm and lovely for anyone who likes Roxette more or less and tour documentary video empasizes song's atmosphere right like it has to.

Three months after release of the first Roxette's comeback single "She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio)" band is ready for a new one and we happily announce that it's one of our most beloved tracks from the album "Charm School" - "Speak To Me".
Beautiful dreamy ballad with old-school rock-chorus softened with Marie's vocal and becoming very female and touching in a vein of "Wish I Could Fly" - that's what we thought had to be the best choice for the second single.
But then we've got some incredible news - Peter Boström (Bassflow) was intended to make new version of the song and what has come out of it has become something you completely don't expect when you hear about remake/remix from Peter. As you probably know Peter worked with Tony Nilsson and new version of the song was left in original tempo with verses getting more electronic and meditative and chorus getting more massive in a way of Tony's ballads for Darin and Elin Lanto and sure we love it like we use to!

Roxette keeps spreading their new album "Charm School" across Europe and do it quite successfully, gathering #1 of album-charts in Germany and Switzerland and #2 in Austria and Sweden. Next stop is UK, the album was released there few days ago and "She’s Got Nothing On (but the Radio)" is the highest new entry at the UK Radio Airplay Chart so it gives a chance to band to get their performance at London's Wembley Arena on the 15th November sold out during Summer.
Band gets heavy support of all their huge fanbase and here we get video made by Tanya Rush for one of album tracks "No One Makes It On Her Own" that we can't miss, really beautiful and touching animation that makes us change our mind about the song that we liked but didn't feel like we do now.

When new Roxette's album "Charm School" strongly keeps #1 of Swedish iTunes band seems to trying bring back all their fame in the rest of Europe making performances and gigs all around. One that caught our attention is from German TV, lypsynching but very nice visually and finally we didn't see Roxette performing "She's Got Nothing On (but the Radio)" on huge TV-show before, or we did? However guess where currently "Charm School" is in iTunes chart of Germany? Right! On #1 and as well in Top-10 of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Spain and Switzerland. Great job and nice start of new week!

When whole world of legal music buyers waits for new Roxette's album to be released on February 11th hardcore fans already enjoy leaked full-length tracks on youtube and other sources. So if you can't wait for official release you can check some diamonds of new album already now (videos are getting deleted by EMI pretty fast so these videos can disappear already when you read it).
After reviewing earlier presented samples we actually don't change opinion about favorites. It's "Speak To Me" - dark atmospheric ballad with epic choruses in a style of "Wish i Could Fly", "Only When I Dream" - another beautiful pop-track with expressive choruses starting with old-school pop-rock Roxette exploding with heart-breaking choruses and more dynamic "Big Black Cadillac" with life-asserting beat and dynamite energy.

New Roxette's album "Charm School" will appear in stores less than in 3 weeks - on February 11th. Loads of fans hold their breath before this great event but we can already check what it sounds like!
With a first single "She's Got Nothing on (But The Radio)" Roxette has marked a trend of looking back to their roots and watching at album in common it's like compilation of the most significant moments in their discography. You can feel magic "Wish I Could Fly" atmosphere of "Speak To Me", sincere and calm "Crash! Boom! Bang!" sound of "I'm Glad You Called", blasting "Real Sugar" choruses of "Big Black Cadillac". It's old good Roxette, not pretending to hit charts all over the world, just bringing pleasure to fans and themselves just because they have to and it's a good thing as this album obviously was made quite harmonically and with love. Marie's voice sounds clean and touching as it was 10 and 20 years ago, pretty incredible but definitely positive thing! Live disk also sounds like a great treat for fans as Per and Marie vocally deliver all energy and emotions with a top professional level.
It's hard to predict how big commercially this album will be but undoubtfully "Charm School" will become shiny point of Roxette's discography and I hope "Only when I Dream", "Big Black Cadillac" and "Speak To Me" will be next singles.

Party song gets party video, video of some pretty wild party that probably you visited yourself many times and will visit again and again. The same with Roxette's video, nothing completely new but hey they're back! Isn't it just great to see Per and Marie singing and smiling together? We enjoy it and recommend it to you.

New Year gift has arrived to all Roxette's fans with new single "She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio)" leaking week before its official release. So now Roxette's finally back in a full mode and we can get first taste of new Roxette's era.
"She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio)" is dynamic pop-song mixing sound of different Roxette's periods - old school rock squealing guitars, synths, retro-beat but the core that makes it unique is still combination of Per's and Marie's voices. Per has leading role in this song and Marie plays vocally backing part - backing but key part. They don't try to follow new trends, they just build their own concept with roots growing through all of their long music career and they do it fine and worthily like such iconic band has to do.

Roxette are ready to come back and dates for new single and new album are already revealed!
First band's single since 2007 "She's Got Nothing on (But the Radio)" will be released on January 10th and the first studio album since 2001 "Charm School" will be out month later on February 11st so it's just few weeks before we'll get some completely new music from Roxette. Press-release was already unleashed and look what we can discover about new tracks from it.

Swedish music lovers keep enjoying by all the music stuff and events currently being held in Stockholm and yesterday everyone could've got a pleasure to watch a great concert in Konserthuset with some top-artists and surprisingly alive responsing audience, Victoria herself was incredibly charming and beautiful, but don't worry if you've missed it, you still can enjoy it here. You can find some really brilliant performances there. For example Sarah Dawn Finer performing her beautiful new single "Kärleksvisan" (Swedish version of song "For A Friend" from her last album), Salem al Fakir with his new devotional song "All Day Love" (that you can download for free on this site if you'll manage to be one of the first 5000) and magical charming performance, Lisa Nilsson with her version of Kent's song "Utan Dina Andetag" (that really loked like my personnal discovery of this artist who seems like a real classics of Swedish music), Peter Jöback with his cover Charles Aznavour's "She", Malena Ernman with some absolutely brilliant performances proving her like a real Goddess of the stage, Roxette with their comeback to a big stage, performance of "The Look" and standing ovations and other performances of Helen Sjöholm, The Real Group, Jazz Divas of Scandinavia (Cæcilie Norby, Silje Nergaard, Rigmor Gustafsson), Lars Cleveman, Magnus Uggla and others. Darin's releasing another devotional single "Can't Stop Love" for Victoria's marriage written by Tony Nilsson, very beautiful modern huge ballad that you can listen here, if you like Darin's ballads you should be totally satisfied with this song!

Not so many bands manage to stay alive 30 years so when it happens it deserves a huge respect. Originally Style was Freestyle and was formed in 80s, getting afterwards a lot of success in 80s participating twice in Melodifestivalen ("Dover-Calais", 1986 and "Hand i hand", 1987) and splitting in 1989. Band came back in 2003 presenting their song "Stay the Night" (familiar title, right?) on MF-2003 but then their activity wasn't really high and last year band decided to fix it releasing new hit single "Vill ha dej, igen" (#2) that helped band to make their album "Vill ha dej igen" #9 in Sweden. After that band decided to return to MF with single "Långsamt", unforunately it was rejected and didn't succeed a lot in charts (#26) but now it's time for a new try with brand new single "Love Killer" that sounds like follower of "Långsamt" with a bit of Roxette's "The Centre of the Heart (Is a Suburb to the Brain)", check it.
